  • 1.  Avalara Error After Sage 100 Moved / Installed on New Server

    I installed Sage 100 version 2019 Advanced and AvaTax on a new Windows Server 2019 Standard server. We plan to migrate Sage 100 and Avatax to this new server but it is not live yet. During testing the new installation of Sage 100 today, when I try and go into Sales Order Invoice Data Entry I get the following error: Microsoft .net v2 and wse2 must be installed prior to using the Avalara AvaTax Adapter. The IT people said "Unfortunately, .net 2.0 and WSE 2.0 are 15 years old and have been discontinued since ~2011. These services are not supported on 2019 server and are no longer being patched for vulnerabilities. ""

    Has anyone ever encountered this error and if so what did you do to resolve it?

    In the past when I've had a similar issue I had to run the registration for Avalara components

    See the portion about manually registering the file.

    I don't know if it helps but here is a screenshot from a customer's Server 2019 Standard system that clearly shows it's available and in this case, installed as well. If it was not supported on Server 2019, I don't think it would appear as a choice under Server Manager. I'm 99% sure it's available in your customer's Server 2019 too and 100% sure it has to be installed for AvaTax to work.

    Yes, I agree with Alnoor. I've done the same thing myself whenever I've encountered this issue. In one case the end user also had a third party add on that was pulling data from Avalara. That add on wouldn't work until .Net 3.5 was installed.

    Thank you @Wayne Schulz @Alnoor Cassim and @John Kerr  ,NET 3.5 framework which includes 2.0 is definitely not installed.  I'm contacting IT with screen shots.  @Alnoor Cassim  yes, I don;t think it would be on the available features list if it wasn't supported.  Love working with "IT"!

    The issue was resolved by having It install ".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET2.0 and 3.0)".  Thanks guys!
