Has anyone ever found (or created!) a way to schedule the VI Job Log output? I'm scheduling a job to run nightly, and we'd like to run the report (errors only version) and save it to a PDF in a specified location. It would be even better if it could be emailed automatically to recipients, but we'll settle for anything that archives a copy without it getting overwritten the next night. TIA!

Alnoor might have something but I haven't had a chance to follow up on this SC post from a few weeks ago.

Hey Kevin - Thanks for mentioning this. I finished / delivered the latest iteration of this Perform Logic a few weeks ago. It does the following:

    • Creates a human readable friendly version of the VI Job Log as a TXT file. It can alternatively export to a table (like a UDT) with rows and columns so you can do your own reporting.
    • Extracts only the Errors - Failed and the often missed Passed with Invalid Fields entries.
    • Emails the TXT output to a UDT defined email distribution list. Alternatively use Visual CUT to sweep the file and email it yourself.
    • Allows you to customize the filename. Last one was: PID + Date + Time + CompanyCode + JobName + Compiled-Job-Name + .txt
    • Writes an entry to the Activity Log

The only I don't have it doing that Kathryn mentioned is exporting to a PDF but that could be added.

    Kathryn,
???????? We have looked at adding VI Perform logic to create a text file of exceptions with files name with Process/Date/Time.
We had thought of exporting to text files for easy review/search etc.?? Would that work for you?

Let me know what you would need in the Job-Log export and I'll let you know the MD mod price for that.
