    ATTN: GoToAssist users. I just sat through a webinar sponsored by LogMeIn (the owner of GoToAssist). They are releasing an updated remote support tool in 4th quarter 2018. The new remote tool will be called Rescue Assist. It is web based (instead of a desktop program), will include real-time messaging with end-user, file transfer, etc. Most important is: connecting to the end-user is immediate. If a download is necessary, it happens in the background. YMMV.

    Perfect. Just in time for the normally busy 12/31 time period. I don't trust these guys to issue anything that's stable until the 5th or 6th try.

    They also said that GoToAssist (think SAGE 100 on-premise) is not going away any time soon. But future development will be in RescueAssist (think SAGE 100cloud). But here the new product is REALLY web (cloud) based.

    Is RescueAssist a screen sharing tool? Or just chat?

    I was only able to find a Rescue Assist app which appears to enable connections to a smartphone. Did they distribute any other information at this webinar?

    Has anyone started using this? I see that it appears on my account as available to try. I don't see my unattended sessions converting over and I wonder if that's the hidden ""gotcha"" meaning that we have to setup unattended all over?

    It appears that with Chrome that the user must add a browser extension .
