Attempting to install Sage 100 2016 Advanced on a W2016 server without much success. This is a fresh Win Server install and a fresh 2016 Advanced install. Logged into server as local admin and running autorun.exe as administrator. Installation process detects several missing components and prompts to install them. Acceptance to install these components generates the following error message and installation terminates. TIA - Randy

Hey Randy, 3 things I can suggest: 1- Are you running the Installer as Administrator? (disregard this, I just noticed you are running as Administrator) :) 2- Can you verify that the path specified in the /sources actually exists? 3- Can you try to install .NET 3.5 manually, and then run the Sage installer?

Windows Server 2016 is not on the list of supported servers for Sage 100 v2016 .

George - Thanks for your response... Regarding #2) E:\Data\Acct\S100v2016.top\S100v2016\Prerequisites\Win8_1\64bit\sxs - does exist ... Regarding #3 ... I can try that ... might take a while though...

Randy, I think I figured out why you're getting an error: notice in the screenshot, it's grabbing the .NET installer for Win8_1. Server 2016 would actually require the equivalent installer of Win10. So basically, you're running into a compatibility issue. If you go to server manager, and install 3.5 manually, assuming the Sage installer has a sanity check for the existence of the 3.5 package, you should be ok. Though, like @BarbaraGoldstein mentioned, if it's not supported, you might be running the risk of having other issues come up down the road.

I think not having Net 3.5 on the server is the culprit here. try adding it through roles and features https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/enable-net-framework-35-by-using-the-add-roles-and-features-wizard

Looks like I am going to have to talk with the head honcho ... they are a little gun shy about running anything unsupported... I get that. Trying to balance that against getting the most time they can out of an OS before they need to upgrade... I get that too.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully Mr. HH can put off trading in his Mercedes for a couple months until you get everything updated.....
