Attempting a v2013 migration to v2014 tonight with ACS Multibin.... First issue was at the start of the migration, an error appeared that a v2013 was in use and the PVX could not continue (not exact words). So I looked at everything, didn't see anything obvious. Rebooted Server. When I tried to relaunch v2014, error stating that activate.pvx could not be found. Looked in the lib|keys folder, noted that activate.pvx was now called migrate.activate.pvx. So I renamed it. Tried to launch again and now I get this error immediately after clicking on the ICON. Any thoughts from people still hanging around????? Not much on the KB..........

Try to reinstall v2014. Check task manager that no pvxwin32 are running.

I did check the task manager before starting the migration as they do have the web engine. All PVX functions were shut down. I also shut down knowledgesync although that hasn't been an issue in the past. I am thinking to reinstall, I have to uninstall first as this is V2014

No, because the error message to begin with was that that Activate.pvx was missing. What is truly bizarre is that I tried reinstalling the (without uninstalling first), it keeps asking for the admin password but I typed the PW and it doesn't accept it, I change the PW using the hack and it still doesn't work.....

Try placing the mas_xxx company files into the 2014 mas directory and just add the companies manually and convert.

Not remigrating as I didn't migrate the first time. Have to chalk some of it up to a long day. what I thought were incorrect folders was just bleary eyes. My bad! All is converting as I type.

Went live at the client today. Very first workstation install crashed and burned no matter what I did. Of course it had to be the owner's PC. Several minor issues, but overall a good recovery from a shaky start. FYIW, ACS's Multi-bin release for v2014 broke a couple reports. I am sure I can find a Crystal expert to come to the rescue... Another interesting note on the owner's access to Sage. He had just recently purchased a Surface so we decided to install Sage on it and that would become his main workstation. It would not shut off and was overheating. So we decided to put it in the freezer for a while to cool it.

And apparently, E-biz is acting funky in the transition from v2013 to v2014? Who'd have thought????

Jeff, was his surface one of the new Core i7 ones? I read about overheating problems and that Microsoft is working on a patch. Doesn't apply to i5 or i3 models

Client says the new v2014 E-biz manager blew away all of his previous v2013 customizations. Is this probable?
