They really need to get the SQL product up and going sooner than later. There are many clients that are in need of the benefits of SQL that will not be limited by payroll for example.

I agree it would be great, but something to keep in mind is that Synergistics is not a very big operation. Really only have 5 or 6 people two of whom I would consider sales. Wonder how much development resources they really have that aren't working on bug fixes and small feature requests. Perhaps they are outsourcing much of it? I really like the folks at Synergistics and Net@Work has had some pretty good success with JobOps over the last couple of years, but it is a little scary that the only truly viable manufacturing option for MAS 90/200 is in the hands of such a small group.

I would suggest that Sage should buy them ... but two problems. A. Sage once said they would be afraid the people would leave and that would reduce the value of the company. B. I don't think Sage really is doing much development themselves these days.

Doubt you will see sage acquiring anything that can't run in cloud - least that is rumor I heard.

Our friend Taylor bet me $100 it won't be Intacct but I am not ruling it out. I took the bet.

As far as Sage purchasing, I heard this has been discussed but Sage was off by one or two zeros - something along those lines. Would just love to see some manufacturing direction from Sage...

John is a member here. It's like joining a gym. Some people get all excited then never show up. We will be consistently looking to add new people and drop inactive people as this group moves forward.

ok - thanks. I saw Lisa (with Hutchinson & Bloodgood) under the members but not John Hoyt. I know they do a lot of JobOps work.

OK, I'm in this group now (yay!). I communicated with Chuck last month about a very large, high profile client of mine that requires MAS 200 SQL to integrate with a custom SQL rental module and they also need JobOps. Now that I am completing the Business Process Review, this has become an absolute for them - SQL and JobOps. I was not encouraged by the response - SQL release ""is still a ways off."" The two major excuses are direction of Payroll by Sage and the actual demand for a SQL version. For my purposes, I don't need a Payroll interface. As for the market demand, the Solution Providers and Consultants need to provide an estimate of this to Synergistic. In reviewing my client base, I have a potential of 6 installations, plus the new installation above, that would seriously consider the SQL product - none use MAS Payroll. I also believe the SQL product is an entree into a new group of larger companies that do not seriously consider MAS 200. Having worked with other enterprise level SQL packages, there is very little out there that provides the type of functionality of JobOps.
