At MOTM another reseller (can't remember which gre

At MOTM another reseller (can't remember which great conversation it was) indicated the conversion discount from 100 to 100c was a 1 time discount. That does not appear to be the case based on the quote and the indication of next years estimate but it seems based on todays email Sage will be reclaiming significant portions to bring perpetual clients up to full fee that converted to 100c. Sage 100c0% increase to subscription list prices Up to 10% increase (5/1/17) at next renewal for Sage 100 perpetual license customers who migrated to 100c and received migration credits/discounts

I recall thinking to myself when 100c pricing was released, who on earth would pay MORE for subscription pricing? For some reason it never crossed my mind that they would make perpetual more over time. That's the way they will get everyone on subscription...

This particular line is only for the ones that converted to 100c at a discount. Module based pricing has not changed. 15% increase to user based list prices and related renewals.

The maximum 10% increase on subscription is stated in the current EULA, so I informed all users of this when they upgraded to 100c. I also told them that I was confident Sage would be increasing perpetual maintenance at a higher percentage. I know there will be some complaints, but I did inform them. What Sage wants the 100c customers to think is - ""Whew! I sure am glad I opted for 100c!

If they are going to grab the full 10% a year for the clients that get a discount, I need to change my wording from ""concerned about them grabbing all of this"" to ""they are grabbing all of this"" each year till they are at full subscription price.

It would seem this was always the plan. I wish they would just be like a partner and tell us this so we can tell the client this. Instead, we get to try to sooth the bitterness and lose those bold enough to transition.

Once their renewals aren't optional, the price increases were inevitable. So, Sage should not have even insinuated year 2 would be = to year 1. And their prices have been too low for a while, I wish they hadn't dropped them to start.

The new pricing does not bother me. Increase or decrease it for the market. When you decrease the entry point but don't decrease our tier requirements... That bothers me. In this case, say what you are going to do and let your client make an informed decision. This feels like a bait and switch. The entire mentality from Sage that a perpetual customer for 20 years is paying too little is bothersome. These customers deserve a discount for being a 20 year customer through the good and bad of Sage.

I've been of the opinion that loyalty to a product should be rewarded, not punished. When was the last time any of your 'reward' cards was a price increase for a product or service?

It's my opinion that tier levels don't substantially hit the bottom line of Sage, but should motivate more sales if designed properly. I'm not convinced they are doing what they should be, and the preview of what may be introduced in the Global Partner Program seems to be going the opposite direction from motivation.

Dropping the barriers between the various products would be motivating. If we're selling any Sage, we're helping Sage.

I have a perpetual license customer that just got their renewal notice. In the letter there is an offer for 100c Gold $10,269.50, no price for 100c Platinum (but call this number for a quote) and this is the difference in price they are experiencing on perpetual: 2016 was $7,501.28 2017 is $11,030.04
