Asking for a Client, this is one question I have not ever dealt with. Payroll Related; RE: Tips.
Allocated Tips in the payroll module
We have both directly and indirectly tipped employees. In the event that there is a need to allocate tips, we use the gross receipt method base on gross receipts per pay period. Since we do not just have directly tipped employees, we must account for indirect tips that directly tipped employees tipped out in the tip pool. Therefore, the amount of tips allocated is based on the shortfall ratio not the 8% of gross receipts per employee.
After we manually calculate outside of the system the shortfall ratio and get the required amount of tips needing to be allocated, we need the ability to enter the necessary amount directly into the tips allocated earnings code or find a solution that will take into consideration indirect tips distributed in a valid tip pooling arrangement so that the shortfall ratio can be considered in the amount automatically figured in the default set up of the ""TA"" earnings code. Has anyone found a solution to be able to enter allocated tips without entering gross receipts or a solution that figures the shortfall ratio directly in the payroll module?
