As anyone sold any Sage 100 Online? I have a prospect asking about it and I know there are limits but I am not sure if I remember all of them.

There is no VI, but I seem to remember hearing we could use VI on a local install and then upload the results to the cloud. Is that correct?

Sounds about right. Same thing for custom crystal reports -- create on the local machine, upload to the cloud.

I have one client using it and called to get pricing for another and sales rep hinted for me not to sell it again because there are no plans to enhance or ever add PR, etc. He made it sound as if it was not a long-term solution. One other limitation is even though you can store Paperless documents on line, you cannot email from Paperless Office.

Thanks everyone. @DebbieBeach - did Sage provide you a login for you to use for your online customer, or does the customer have to give you one of theirs to use? Is your customer happy with the performance?

@DebbieBeach - Just love it when this stuff happens. It is supposed to be an entry level solution for Sage. They purposely underpowered it so if/when the client does out grow it, they can move their data to a full strength version. It is focused toward the quick startup that doesn't have a lot of cash, that is expecting to grow and required additional resources down stream. Many startups don't want to do PR from the get go. Gotta love the sales rep.

My online client is a CFO and very experienced Sage 100 user and has set up many companies. He rarely needs my help. The online version was a great alternative for his startup client and he was very happy that online was available because cash was not. Sage actually helped him get it up and running and he is happy with performance. He was hoping payroll would become available but has since signed up with a service. The client I wanted to add uses job cost and payroll which is when I was told not to pursue it. @PhilMcIntosh - I took a look at the software while I was connected to him so had no need for his login.

No outbound e-mail from paperless office. Must copy down to local machine and then send. No third party applications, extended solutions, etc. That means no bar-coding, multi-bin, job ops, etc. We have simplified our offerings, so you can sell subscription and then host with us for about the same price. With VI we add a little more as those customers tend to use more bandwidth and have more issues, but still very competitive with Sage's price and a lot more functional.
