Are we going to allow members to just keep schedul

Are we going to allow members to just keep scheduling free demonstrations for vendors? Every time I turn around there's another one being scheduled.

Probably should address it. We are dlluting the brand by not having a standard to adher to. I don't we should control it as the admin team but select some members to serve on the webinar committee to be in charge of scheduling. Maybe a couple a month. Vendors should be willing to pay a fee to get in front of the membership.

Also open to considering just using Evernote to hold these as Robert had suggested.

My concerns are that: a. The presentation should be relevant to most members b. That we not have too many so that people stop attending c. That we have some manner to be compensated for hosting the presentation I think @RobertWood mentioned we have not had great attendance for all webinars so maybe the webinar fee includes us creating a a document that provides contact information, pricing, summary of the webinar, etc. In my mind we stick it all into a Google Doc and share it with the membership. It may be worthwhile to invest the proceeds of these webinars toward paid Google Apps accounts for 90 Minds fellows. I think you're talking $50/year. By the time you become a Fellow I think we should have a reasonable expectation that your serious about the group, etc. We could also use Google Apps to share price lists, etc. Yeah it's another thing to log into but long term I think ti would be rather helpful and it's zero setup since it's all online.

    All good ideas.

I like sticking with Evernote so we just have one place to search but can go either.

I thought of that but I don't see the real harm for now. If members are interested, great, if they aren't what's the harm? It's mutually beneficial if members can learn about potential solutions that can help their customers. I'm sure there's a way to make some money at it, but is it worth the hassle? Perhaps we come up with a policy that if you want to market to 90minds, you have to offer all members your consolidated tier margin as if we were one company since we are giving them access to us as one organization. I think Evernote is a little more friendlier. (For me anyways). Regarding the demoes. I am fine with the way they are but I think they need to be arranged pr sponsored by a fellow.

I agree with @MarkChinsky but on the other hand ... who is authorized to set up third-party demos for the membership of 90 Minds? I would say that should be done at the Admin Group level. Forget the money-making aspect, it's more about controlling the brand and dilluting the value to the third-parties. Too many poorly attended webinars will dillute any kind of group cohesion and value that we offer when speaking with third-parties.

@PeterWolf Yea but if its just the few of us, it takes alot of time coordinating this stuff and there isn't anything in it for us individually. I spent alot of time back and forth with MSI and will make nothing for it. I did it because alot of people seemed to express a curiosity about the product and I happened to have an opportunity emerge around the same time. I definitely wouldn't want to be told, 'ok its your turn, time to coordinate a 90minds webinar with Avalara.' Then I have to get the video, re-render, post to youtube, post links here, get the weekly calls about 'so what do you think, do you know this partner and can you get them interested? etc'

re: Vendor Demos $ 500 Fee - one held per month 90 Minds has one per month on a pre-determined day using our GotoWebinar We create a summary of the presentation and host it in our internal space - this is dependent upon the vendor supplying standard info: Price list, brochures, etc Have these demos on the second Wed of each month (or convenient time) Hold off on promising that we will record until we see how much of a burden that is but posting a recording internally might be a good idea. re: Google Apps Step one lets dump all the Google Apps accounts that people are not using. When Google Apps used to be free we setup a bunch of people and now I cannot go to the pay version without activating a subscription for all of them which were set up. So I need to narrow down that member list. Step two: I think there's member benefit (looking for feedback) to establishing a set of folders that hold price lists, vendor info, sample documents to be shared. Ideally I'd love to create 90 Minds whitepaper that provides candid feedback on topics like FRX alternatives. If we as a group create it then there is a LOT less possibility of ""Sage blowback"" . re: Evernote I think this works great for our knowledgebase but not good for file or document storage (I have issues with sharing a pdf from here as it seems to be embedded into Evernote more than free standing where I could share to a customer). I want to continue Evernote for the KB. This also is the best tool for field use when you need to look something up. TL;DR: 1. Charge vendors $500 for demos subject to admin approval 2. Hold only one per month 3. Purchase a Google Apps account for each fellow with 90 Minds email 4. Continue to invest in Evernote for knowledgebase Open for further comment -- the above are just my thoughts and not final.

Here's what I want to do with the Google Apps storage - we can setup folders for holding current information about the most popular add-ons. I think this will be very helpful as we often have customers asking about prices, etc. And if we create a 90 Minds whitepaper with member comments, feedback we could use that to provide customers. I think it's a huge value add.

I'm fine with the fee idea. Makes them put skin in the game.
