Are CS ODBC drivers ""tuned"" for each specific version? IOW, should I uninstall the v2015 driver and use the v2017 release or will the 2015 version work for v2017?

The last time I did a 2015 to 2017 upgrade and had to deal with CS ODBC drivers, users got errors when trying to print anything until I dealt with the driver. When I ran into issues with the 2017 driver, I contacted Sage and they told me since it was Sage 100 Advanced that I was dealing with, there's no benefit to using the CS ODBC driver and recommended I just turn it off. They said on the newer versions users have found it doesn't really improve performance at all, either with Standard or Advanced. I ended up turning it off and my client hasn't complained. I think it's slow but printing is always slow.

That is a strange response - ""there is no benefit to using the CS ODBC driver"". Has the sotamas driver improved that much? Or is everyone on a gigabyte network and that is the reason you don't realize a speed issue?

I believe that's a confused support analyst you talked to. They probably didn't know how to troubleshoot the ISAM errors and went down this road of saying it's no good anyway. It is ALWAYS faster even today and it always has had this memory leak issue requiring one to setup a job to auto restart the service nightly. What is also true is since v2015, BOTH the regular and CS ODBC driver are notably slower but since CS ODBC runs on the server with Adv, it is always relatively faster. I see the slowness since v2015 a lot on hosted sites especially and CS ODBC is the only way to get back acceptable performance (at least I do so for specific users in User Maintenance). Jeff I assume in v2017 the same 4.40.04 version is used as 2015. You can check the Drivers tab in the ODBC Administrator.
