Are any of you Sage 100 members familiar with Timberline? I have a client interviewing someone who has had Timberline experience but claims it fundamentally the same as Sage/MAS and they want to know if this is true or not. They also have JobOps and I'm pretty sure that's not fundamentally the same as anything! :)

I'm pretty certain it has as much in common as X3 does to Sage 100. Making such a claim is already a major read flag in either their knowledge or honesty

If you buy into the branding, you'd think they were fundamentally the same. I guess it depends on what you mean by fundamentally the same.

I agree with the red flag comment @MarkChinsky . Many people BS their way into jobs.

The easiest way I learned that lesson is to see what some ex employees have posted about themselves in Linked In. It's like 'is that the same person I fired??' Resume's are often a major fabrication or exaggeration. I don't care how it looks, make sure you truly test this person's skills if they claim to know a product. I've had people self rank themselves on a scale of 1-10 on various modules and wondered later, which curved grading system they were used to.
