Customer in v4.50....(already reinstated...upgrading next month) Anyway, for the past week, randomly every couple of hours the Application Server Configuration shutsdown.  I have looked in all kinds of Activity Logs for Sage and the Operating System and cannot find anything.  I know the Application Server Configurations keeps som LOGS, but I have never had the need to look into them....where are they stored?????  Or if anyone have any other suggestions.  For the past couple of years we changed to the appication server since the service would give timeout issues.

The logs should be in \\MAS90\Home\Lib\_appserv\sage\

Do you know what happened a week ago?  Was there something new installed in the network environment that could be causing a conflict, such as another system using the same port as Sage 100?

    Have you tried the following?

To refresh the Application Server Configuration files and make the connection more stable:

    1. Stop the Application Server and close the Application Server Configuration application.
    2. On the Sage 100 server, rename:
      • ..\MAS90\MAS_System\SY_Console.m4t file
      • ..\MAS90\home\lib\_appserv\LOCATE.PVK
      • ..\MAS90\home\lib\_appserv\SESSIONS.PVK
    3. Restart the Application Server.
    4. From the Windows desktop on the Sage 100 server, click the Start button. On the Programs menu, point to Sage Software, and then click Application Server Configuration. Note that new LOCATE.PVK and SESSION.PVK files are created.
    5. Click the Server Tab. Clear the KeepAlives check box.
    6. Click the Clients Tab. On the Re-Connect list, select None.

Any new IT employees at the company?  I had this start happening at a client; we had the application service running under the Administrator account. They had a new IT person and he would connect to the server in to do something and would log out when he was finished which shut down the Sage application.  After we realized that we created a new network users with administrative rights and run the application under that user only.

    Just a thought.
