    Suddenly this morning...getting APPCRASH on PVXWIN32.EXE upon starting sage..

    Not sure this will work, but is a general fix for lots of things and is quick to test:  change that icon's property to "run as administrator" and hope that you user has administrative permissions.

    Try the ignoring the data execution in windows setting for pvxwin32.exe
