  • 1.  "API Compliant" (to replace EDI)?

We had a customer reach out, since they were asked by their customer (Daimler) whether Sage 100 was "API Compliant".  Attached to the question was a confusing PowerPoint presentation, trying to sell the concept of replacing EDI (True Commerce) with a B2B communication link for exchanging ASN data.  (Make it sound simple, and throw in a bunch of technical jargon... yeah, that will work).

I am not aware of anything plug-and-play for this, but I thought to ask if anyone has any insights?

I expect the answer is no, that this request is aimed at true Cloud ERP systems (or companies with large in-house development operations), and any attempt would be a money pit (which is basically what we told the customer).

B2B Gateway uses this approach for their EDI offerings, although their EDI is still referred to as EDI.

Thanks John.  Have you any experience with B2B Gateway?  They do indeed seem to have a Sage 100 branded solution.

I have not spoken to my contacts for years - they all left. The company seems to be thriving, though. They also supported and continue to support the EDI standards in Europe. Back when I was working with them, the other providers did not have that capability.
