    #Sage100 v2018 issue: If you look up a vendor, they have the right vendor name, but if you run the Vendor Purchase History by Period the vendor names sometimes repeat for several records in a row.  i've rebuilt key and sort files.
    ALSO, they claim that a vendor wasn't in the system, but after they created a new record with the same vendor no, the history appeared on that vendor record.
    ALSO, they recently ran the Remove Temp. vendors utility.
    Any thoguhts?  this was a recent upgrade...so, you know, my fault. Want to clear my name. :-D

    The report should show the VendorNo too, unless they customized to remove that.  Run using the stock Sage report to see if a report customization is causing problems...?

    It's a stock report, and I thought the same way, til I confirmed that the vendor no and vendor name in the WRK table are what's incorrect.  the report is just reporting on bad data. And, the good news, so far, the tables that the wrk table pulls from look like they are correct.  But that said, @Beth Bowers I know I saw vendors with blank names and I may  have seen a weird record before the first record.  I'm going to try to go back and look at that!

    Back in the day, Randy Marion wrote a utility to build the vendor purchase history table.  As you recall, Sage lazed out of the framework conversion process by not created their own.  I believe it still works.  If you have a copy, you could try rebuilding the entire table.

    What I've concluded is this:
    • All the vendors that were temporary were purged when that Remove Temporary Vendors utility was run.  There were 8000+ and now there are 300+.
    • I had made a copy company TST last week, so I actually have the full vendor list.
    • If I import them again, and we think we'll see their checks and their summarized history if we do that, based on the one I tested, AARP.
    • All the vendors that have their name look funny on the purchase history would look right again, because I tested that with AARP.
    • But the invoices are not showing in Vendor Maintenance anymore for these temporary vendors.
    UPDATE
    ================
    So I reimported the more recently used vendors, their history is there again, once they exist in vendor masterfile. Checks show up, etc.   The invoices tab is blank because they were purged out of AP Open, regardless of the fact they were recent, because that utility doesn't follow the retention rules like doing a period end close does.  I suspect nothing happened that wasn't working as designed.  There's just probably no contingency for dealing with customers who purge vendors then want to report on them right after. :-D
    I hope she'll use Inactive or maybe merge them into one big vendor in the future.
