  • 1.  AP Automation integration with Yooz?

    I have a client asking for a call in January to start configuring a data flow (SFTP?) with Yooz, and I've never worked with them before.

    Website has marketing lingo and buzz words, but no real technical details.  I'm expecting VI, but really have no way of knowing.

    Has anyone worked with this integration before?  Any experiences / insights would be welcome.

    Hey Kevin,

    We have 1 client who uses Yooz, and yes, it is VI exports and imports. They are all automated, so that part is pretty seamless, once they are all set up and running. If I'm recalling correctly, the problem with Beanworks was something about UDFs that Beanworks wouldn't manage correctly. I mostly work with their IT guy, who is not a Yooz fan, but the CFO likes it so there ya go. Years ago I was working with the Yooz folks to help set up the jobs, but that was pretty much it, it's been on auto-pilot since then. Coincidentally, I just upgraded this client from 2021 to 2024 and so far (knock on wood), it's gone pretty well. Oh, they are on Premium and they have custom mods and lots and lots of UDFs.

    Thanks Cullen.

    For anyone else, this is what it's been like so far:
    (Everything has tested mostly correct, but we are not Live yet).

    • Scripted exports of Sage data (GL CoA, Vendor list, Open PO...)... tab separated files (or CSV). 
      • There are file specifications, which need some hand-holding to get the field mappings correct, but the column lists are not too hard to translate.
    • SFTP uploads / downloads.
    • VI jobs to import Yooz data into Sage (AP invoices and PO invoices). 
      • File formats are what I asked for... they had nothing to even suggest.  I believe it was custom programmed fresh for this project... which seems odd, since ours is not the first Sage 100 client for Yooz.
    • When estimating costs, take whatever time you think is reasonable for such an integration, and double it.  Lots of delays / slow progress.

    Not Yooz related but an FYI regarding various ways AP Automatization Synchronizes with Sage

    Have customer on Beanworks/Quadient and just upgraded the to 2024 from 2023 and it was effortless. 

    Beanworks/Quadient uses some type of synchronization which runs on the server.

    The customer has been on this since 2020 (small private school) and last I heard they loved it.
