I have a customer running on v2020 Premium. Both the Sage App Server and SQL Server (running sql 2019 Standard Ed) run on Windows Server 2019 Standard o/s. It is working okay (just okay). They also have a Citrix Server running Server 2008 R2 where 40 remote users between 2 remote locations connect up to run Sage and it's just working too. All 3 servers are virtual machines (VMs) of a physical host server running Hyper-V on Server 2019. The physical server is located in the home office in a server closet, not in a data center.

The Citrix server is dying and obviously out of support too so they ordered a new Dell server last month and it is arriving later this month. The 2 VMs running Sage and SQL will be migrated / cloned, and also migrated from a Hyper-V Gen 1 VM to a Gen 2 VM. The Citrix server will not be migrated or cloned. Rather it will be retired and replaced with  a 40-user RDS / Terminal Server (2 of them actually for load-balancing purposes which is always "interesting" when predicting Sage start-up behavior / errors but I'm prepared for that).

** So today I learned the new host o/s for Hyper-V ships with Server 2022 Datacenter edition. IT is telling me because the RDS CALs purchased were for 2022, the RDS VMs should also run Server 2022 Datacenter instead of downgrading to Server 2019, which would require re-licensing.

Does anyone have a customer running Windows Server 2022 today for their RDS / Terminal Server today? It's listed as supported on the Supported Platform Matrix (SPM) but is it too bleeding edge for Sage 100? Realistically I wonder what types of tweaks it needs for real life compatibility. What I know for sure it needs is the Amyuni Driver Update mentioned on KB 103205 which has been tremendously helpful to resolve all kinds of Paperless issues, not just the one it mentions.

We don't have any 2022 running Sage yet, but if they purchase the 2022 RDS CALs via volume license, they can downgrade them to 2019 by calling the clearing house.

As a side-note, we've recently had issues with 2022 RDS Licensing servers not counting licenses correctly where it keeps resetting usage to zero, which the customer doesn't mind since they are RDS SALs (subscription based CALs) and they pay per user.
