Anyone run into this before. PR Check was issued for a negative deduction to refund insurance. Fed earnings were adjusted properly, but not state. v4.4 PU 8 Client needed to refund an employee a pre-tax insurance deduction do you know why it would have added it back into the federal withholding wages but not add it back in the NE withholding wages. When I look at this employees tax summary Federal withholding wages are different than NE withholding wages by $26.26 the amount of this fix.

Jeff, i had a client enter a negative deduction like this just yesterday and it erroneously calculated FICA tips. There are a couple of KBs about a bug. Not sure about the tax withholding.

I was thinking there was a KB on this some time ago, but I was hoping it had been fixed by now.

It's weird the problem shows up in one KB for 4.2 with a status of fixed on Service Release 11. THen the same problem shows up again on another KB for 4.3 that mentions that it is also a problem in 4.4.

Bugs are never stomped out. They just go into hiding until the next release. What did you search on? I am coming up with goose eggs.

Not sure it'll help you much.. but I searched on FICA TIPS because that's how the problem manifested itself for my client.
