Anyone run into issues with MAS200 v4.4 on SBS 2008 64 bit? I have a new setup where everything starts fine but MAS200 as an application gives either a server not found (local workstation) or a server running but no port ID on the server. I suspect some type of user rights or other server setup issue but am still wading through possible resolutions.

When I installed this for a client several months ago, I had to define rights at the local domain as well as in Active Directory. MAS ran fine at the server, but not from workstations. During workstation install, I noticed that it was not configuring the icon with the server name and sometimes defaulted to port 10000 (even though the service was using 9440).

Check ""inbound rule"" in the KB If the error occurs when starting Sage MAS 200 on Windows 2008 Server: Verify that the correct IP address or server name was entered during workstation setup. Browse to the ..\Mas90\Launcher\ folder on the workstation. Open the Sota.ini file. Locate the [Servers] section. The IP address or server name is listed after the following text: 1= The port number is listed after the IP address or server name: 1=MASServer;####; where #### is the port number - 10000 being the default. If port and IP address have been verified in the above steps as being correct for the system, this message can occur if an 'Inbound Rule' has not been created for the Sage MAS 200 port on the Windows 2008 Server under Windows Firewall Advanced Security. On the Windows 2008 Server, on the Administrative Tools menu, select Windows Firewall with Advanced Security console. In the left pane of the console, select Inbound Rules. Right-click, and select New Rule. Select Specific Port. Select 10000 or the actual port number for Sage MAS 200. Select Allow Connection. Click the Profile tab, and select Domain, Private, Public. Name the new rule MAS200 or a name of your choice

Thanks. Naturally the IT people swore I had supervisor rights and the firewall was off. Neither were true.

In my case it's the justification to quote a high price to begin with. Every customer swears that everything ""will be ready"" though few are. There's ALWAYS overhead involved and to quote it as perfect is to work at a rate that will be about 50% less than your ideal.
