So I'm assuming (bad word) that not just the Production Management, but all of the 2019 release has been delayed until May – right?  I was told by the Sage Development Team at MOTM that Mother Sage in Europe would not let NA Sage delay the release past April 2nd, and that they HAD to hit that date.   So – this is indeed a brand new development – unless they do a release of "general" 2019 on April 2nd and then add Production Management to it in mid-May...

I also asked if v2019 was being delayed until May 14th, 2019, or just the PM Product; and they did not answer my question either.
Also, a 2-day reseller training session is going to be added to the "back end" of the Sage Summit Atlanta event, but it is not firm planned yet, they don't have a hotel yet, they don't have information yet.  Maybe by the end of next week they will have the details.  It is for those not already certified in Sage 100cloud Manufacturing; and is for Make to Stock Only.

I have $50 which says by May 14 it’s called a Controlled Release.

Timothy Harfield just confirmed it as well (that the rest of the release for 2019 will still be on April 2nd – just sans Production Management), and when I asked why we weren't notified on the Tuesday PAC call, he said the decision had not been made at that point in time.  Sounds like that was just decided either yesterday or today.  The fact that it has been delayed and isn't ready for prime time I don't think was a surprise to anyone – that they took so long to come to that conclusion and announce it – that was the surprise.

The "What's New Doc" is probably included in the "customer facing documents" we were told would be available on the day it is released (May 14, 2019).  Then Timothy said, he would try and get the out earlier, but no word on that meaning a month earlier or a day earlier.

The what’s new appears to be the same as what’s in the help file. I think Nicole posted a copy on another thread.

My guess is that it’s all hands on deck for this MFG release and we may get even less documentation than usual.

Right, @Wayne Schulz, what @Nicole Ronchetti posted was awesome, but technically I don't think that's necessarily the final.  It seems like that's as close as we're gonna get until v2019 is actually released.

No I believe that's pretty close to the final. I think we need to change our way of thinking on the whole "work order rewrite"/ production management. This is not a part of Sage v2019. Not being released with 2019, its not even a Sage product. This is an ISV solution. Hence, why nothing is being released to developers or partners ahead of time.

    Here are my 2 cents......

Developers won't have access to the code for a few freaking YEARS... did I really catch that right?! And partners won't get the product until it comes out to the standard public, "unless you are on the Partner Preview Program" and you are supposed to contact Linda... Well I tried twice to contact Linda now to get on the dang program.... no response...

(I might be wrong but what I heard....... ) They will require a 2 day training course to get certified for the Production Management Module (So a great way for ScanCo to make a chunk of change to use the module? or what?)

They say it comes out April, then May.... so I bet it comes out in Sept/Oct geez.....

    What a joke...

@Erin Oldaker Even if it were available on 4/2, it was not fully functional. The MRP function for Production Management (make to stock) was not available until June, which now with this delay is - who knows? How can you be a manufacturer and not have MRP capabilities? (Oh, let's just guess!) At least they should humor the customers and throw in a co-branded dart board or Ouija board.

The saving grace of this is that Job Ops users are used to waiting for a release or three - and being held at an earlier product update indefinitely -  before installation.

This mfg upgrade would have been a good strategic plan if Sage implemented it 5 years ago.

As it is today, the rollout has the markings of payroll 2.x --- where Sage is pulling people into repeated NDA sessions to ask why nobody is upgrading. Which in turn takes their attention and effort away from the remaining users who are limping around with minor updates and price hikes.

@John Hoyt one of my questions from the beginning of the meeting that they failed to answer was if and when CEM (Component Exception Manager) was going to come with this product (or similar MRP) ? **CEM is the MRP portion in JobOps for planning and ordering what is needed on WT’s So did I miss some type of answer to that portion of the release date? Or was it NOT even touched upon?

@Erin Oldaker The "MRP for Inventory / MRP for Manufacturing" was slated for calendar Q2, 2019 release, and this is CEM. As far as I know this has not changed, although with this delay, it may be. The old MRP module will be dead for Production Management. CEM may or may not be renamed as MRP.

My understanding is the MRP function will be CEM, which will have a "versions" for distribution and manufacturing. There will no longer be a separate PA module as in the past. I am guessing they will name the surviving function "MRP", which would make it less confusing.

@Erin Oldaker Yes, they are the same programs. PA and CEM were almost identical (PA had some slightly different features), so the surviving CEM as MRP should be relatively the same. The only changes may be improvements or integrations with any features added from Work Order that JobOps did not have.

One issue we have had recently with Job Ops and 2018, they stopped releasing updates at PU2. SO clients with PR and Job Ops and 2018 were screwed because PR needed the upgrades.... I had 2 clients cancel PR because it didn't work, the highest PU they could go with JO was PU2, then JO announced they would release PU5 and i would come out 2/28/19......... well that hasn't happened either..... I have followed up every 10 days since 2/28/19.... no luck yet.   This will be interesting...... definitely not recommending any of my clients to go on it for at least a year.... Unless of course @Wayne Schulz gives green light! :)

JobOps v2018 PU5 is scheduled to be released on 04/02/2019... at least that was the last I heard.  They will not be doing releases for PU3 or PU4.

Great to know, last I followed up, Darin reported and said: "We had hoped to have it out by the end of 2/28, but we didn't make that deadline.  We are working to finalize our testing on it and get it released as quickly as we can.  But, at the present time, it's not available."

I asked for a estimated date, and got nothing.  Was just waiting for the PU5 I know nothing will happen with PU3 PU4 which is fine. Thank you Madeline, now I have an "estimated" date to tell my clients.....

My Take Away from todays meeting:
It has switched to a Team Meeting every Friday at 3 pm EST; lots of people seemed to be missing the connection information.
When they said a release date of May 14th, 2019; their tone was not confident.
As of April 2, 2019, all manufacturing support will go to Sage Software directly.  Including those clients already on Sage 100 Manufacturing.  Existing JobOps Resellers can still contact JobOps support, per our JobOps Agreement.
Once PM is installed, your WO Module is disabled.
If you have Job Cost Installed, it must be un-installed prior to installing v2019 with PM.  They say it is temporary.  There are only 100 customers with both Job Cost and with Work Order, and for the first release, this was the best way to handle the situation.  If a client still uses Job Cost, they can't go to v2019 now.
Sage 100 Perpetual License Clients do not get the dynamic inventory or dynamic labor transactions.  (Must be on Subscription).
Sage 100 Perpetual License Clients must pay for the Component Exception Manager, (MRP)
PM Reseller Training tentative for May 16 & 17 in Atlanta.
JobOps Reseller "web courses" TBD dates.
Master Console will have a count of PM Users on the screen.
I can't speak much to the pricing, or user counts; I find that part to be ever changing and not very clear.  (To me, at least).

Continued thoughts. Based on the PM flag in the master console, I guess it's WO and MRP users combined that make up the Scanco users (but getting there late, didn't want to ask q's already asked!  But I am leaping to the conclusion that if you have the vanilla MRP that still costs $720 a year, you're NOT counting those users as PM users. #doubledip
I also don't know if we can use the cancellation web link to change the number of WO users.  You can use this to change your number of Sage 100c users, which I have done, and it looks like you can use it to remove a module, too.

Without PM, users of existing WO and MRP may continue to use those with v2019 starting with the 4/2 release.
Existing Sage Manufacturing users may NOT use that with v2019 and must wait for Production Management Make to Order releases.
So, if you have a new user that needs Sage Manufacturing, they should be on v2018.
