Anyone know the upgrade path for a client that wants to move from advanced to premium that is using payroll and job cost now that 2018 has been released?

What version are they on now?

They are licensed as 100c. I believe they are on 2016.

I am curious if it is as simple as upgrading from 2016 Advanced to 2018 Advanced and then 2018 Advanced to 2018 Premium and what licensing issues will be in between with the way Sage now manages the licenses. Will the conversion manage payroll between 2018 Advanced and Premium?

Why go to 2018 Advanced? 2016 Advanced >> 2018 Premium should work (excluding specific considerations for PR / JC). The Premium migration wizard lets you choose a Standard / Advanced data source.

    PR/JC is exactly my concern.

I talked with Elliott about a weird upgrade we are planning, and as long as you do pre-migration / follow all the documented steps, the PR upgrade wizard should convert Providex files from v2016 just fine. (I have no insights into JC).
