Anyone know the background on this? Maybe I'd heard that they were acquired but I'm foggy.. Hi Wayne, I hope all is well with you. I wanted to reach out to you and re-introduce myself. I am one of the new partners at Scanco. Scanco was acquired in 2011 and since the acquisition we have been focusing on the ""new"" Scanco. There has been many changes at Scanco since 2011 and I would love the opportunity to fill you in on what is new here. I noticed on your linked in profile that you see the wave of the future in SaaS applications. I would love a chance to talk and go over some of the applications that we have developed with a SaaS model for Sage 100 & 500 users. Would you be available to talk next week? Thanks! Tess

Paul Heim the original owner of Scanco stepped down in 2011 due to health reasons. Tess is Paul's daughter. Tess & her husband, Shaun, are the current owners.

...so how new is the new Scanco if Tess has been there all along (at least 10 years by my estimation)?

We haven't worked with Scanco since 2008, although they tried to sell us on the idea of the ""new"" Scanco. I never found out what that was.

Didn't ""new"" mean don't ask for Paul when you call?

They had released their updated version a few years back and it was a slow roll out all of the features. We haven't sold Scanco for years. The new Scanco Remote Sales is a SAAS solution. Only upfront cost is the first month of service (They do ask that you subscribe for one year, but after that it is month by month). From the sounds of it you can get on or off of it as needed after the initial year. Great for those who only need it one or two months out of the year. When you are on it for the month it includes any updates needed for the server side of it. I don't know if the SAAS model is used for other products that they may have. The remote sales is iOS and Android native apps that use the built in camera or can use external scanners. They do not offer printing yet. CC processing is outside of the system and not part of the application. I think they said that the app has a link to the web interface for your merchant. That was the spill I got the other day.
