Anyone know of any extended solutions to expand the product line field to 6 characters?

Yikes, they have exhausted the 1,679,616 possibilities by using alpha numeric combinations (36x36x36x36)?

Gut feeling is that there are none. Product line is everywhere and the current possibilities are practically unlimited.

You could add a UDF to the Product Line file for an alternate code (or just use the Product Line Description field). I believe then anywhere a Product Line shows up in a lookup, this UDF (or Desc) could be displayed instead.

It might be worth checking with one of the master developers. It shouldn't be too difficult to expand unless Product Line is in WO or JC.

Just very time consuming, then you have to modify all the reports then hope Sage never issues a real update that the client would want....

Robert - probably not difficult, but that would likely be a lot of dictionaries to change (hence time consuming, so not necessarily cheap). It is also a direct modification of the Sage dictionaries, which is something we try to avoid if possible because this hinders with Product Updates.
