Anyone know if a credit memo is creatable from an invoice in history? I am thinking VI but I feel like this should be an option other than RMA (which they do not have)?

I don't think so. A recent client who can't stop thinking about how good life was with Peachtree keeps stumbling with this inability. LMK if you find a way (besides VI).

I was looking at this. Does it assume you want to apply the credit? In most cases this is more of a return that to adjust down the invoice. I guess at the end of the day, we just want a credit balance on their account.

Yes. It works off of the 'Apply To' field, thats how it knows which invoice lines to pull in, then it applies to that invoice. We could modify it to not work off of the apply to field. If its something that they want to consider just shoot me an email and we can talk about it more.

I guess I should already know this but I don't process to many applied credit memos. If you were to process this does the credit memo appear on the aging report and trial balance in the period noted on the credit memo and posting date or get attached to the ""apply to"" invoice and puts the credit to the earlier date/period?

It does get attached to the ""apply to invoice"" but it will not show up on the trial balance until the transaction date of the credit memo. The aging won't show the credit memo, it will simply reduce the balance of the original invoice on the aging after the date of the credit. The credit is never reflected in an earlier period. When the credit is reflected is always based on the transaction date or the posting date of the credit, not the original invoice.
