Anyone know how to get GL detail info out of QB? The std report dump does not put the GL account on the same line as the rest of the detail.

Can't you customize the report or create a custom one? Then export to Excel?

I haven't looked, customer says no or at least she doesn't know how to

@MichaelPruet has a QB practice. Perhaps he can assist. In the past, when account number did not appear, I will export to Excel then create a formula and paste down the rows to place the account number on each line. Uses an if statement. Fairly easy to do.

I assume that it is a ""Transaction Detail by Account"". It is subtotaled by account and the account number is only on the total and header rows. To fix, go into the report in QuickBooks, click on the button called ""Customize Report"", then on the display tab, in the column section, check the ""Account"" to display. Export to excel. You should be good to go.

@MichaelPruet - thank you! It is 8 years history and that ""fairly easy to do"" was NOT going to happen. :-)
