Sage 100

Anyone implemented Sage 100 ERP in the Tobacco industry? One of the biggest concerns is this is a distributor and there are unique taxing requirements. The client has been using Sage 100 ERP for GL-AP-AR for some time but considering transitioning their old custom system. Input and experience could lead to some contract work.

I haven't worked with anyone in the Tobacco industry however I have worked with clients in the liquor industry, and in a previous life I worked for a firearms importer so I am familiar with excise taxes. (ATF excise taxes). It shouldn't be too difficult for them. Will you be in San Diego next week?

I have one client that is using the Tax class, UDF's and fields in inventory for many different reporting they have to do for tobacco. I helped them set up the tax class per prod line and then created the UDF's they need. Most of the reporting they wrote with my help.

Apparently it is by state and item which makes sense. This client is working in 5 states. It sounds like good news they were able to set it up. @DianePorter , it sounds like the client requested only pieces of what was needed from you. Would you be interested in how your company could be engaged in assisting with this client?

@LarryBradford - @SamanthaKnigge just proposed a scripting job specific to tracking/collecting tobacco taxes for a customer of ours in the Tobacco Industry. Maybe we can leverage this across two customers and both come out ahead?
