Anyone heard of Crystal issues with sorting between different versions of Crystal? Created a Business Works report for a client and it sorts dates fine in my version but not in hers.

Are the date formats different, e.g. date/time vs. date?

Are the option settings in the ODBC the same on your computer and hers?

It's the same report, so nothing should be different. The ODBC driver only has one option for BWG, unlike the several for MAS.

What are the two versions?

Mine is either 10 or 11 (works on both) and hers is 2008.

What happens in 2008? Does it not sort at all or are you getting some odd sorting or errors?

Starts with Jan of 2012, then goes to Oct 2012, then starts with March, April, May. On this report, all dates are in 2012. And it is a date field in BWG not a custom field just being used as a date.

Is it grouped by date or just sorted by date?

Sorted.

Does it go Jan, Oct, Nov, Dec, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep?? If so, it looks like it is sorting by month number without leading zeros - 1, 10, 11, 12, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 vs. 01, 02, etc. Just a guess...

Have you tried creating a formula with the date field and then sorting on that?? (Sorry, running out of ideas...)

I can try that. Watch it work on theirs and not on mine.

Are you grouping by a date? That has messed me up before where on the group details you can choose to print for each week, month, quarter, etc instead of once for each day.

Nope, just sorting. And reminder - it works fine on their data on my machine with Crystal 10, 11 - it just doesn't work on THEIR machine with Crystal 2008.
