Anyone have input/comparison on Sage 100 (v2014) with Job Cost and PR (client currently on) and Sage Contractor? After working with them for 10+ years they are thinking on moving from Sage 100 and wandered if I knew anything about Contractor (which I don't). Client installs fire protection systems.

I was in your position a couple years ago. I simply can't justify Job Cost to anyone with growing needs. I actually suggest that if people are looking for additional JC functionality that they compare construction systems. I don't much care who they compare -- if it's Sage or someone else since my experience with virtually all commission promises is negligible unless you want to follow that lead as if it were your full time job.

JobOps works great for installation companies

Agree that they should look into JobOps. Especially for jobs of labor and material, instead of Job Costing.

3 votes for JobOps! When you mention Sage Contractor, are you referring to Sage 100 CRE (formerly Master Builder) or Sage 300 CRE (formerly TImberline)? 100 CRE is more basic, 300 CRE provides much more flexibility. 300 is too much and 100 isn't enough in my opinion. I am project managing a 100 CRE install, so I have access to it, but it is not even close to the functionality of JobOps for installation.

@JohnHoyt I did not get that far whether 100 or 300 CRE. Wanted to get input before I went back to client. He initially sent me an email asking if I knew about Contractor. I never thought about JobOps. Might be a way for me to get back into the product and keep this client. Thanks all!
