Anyone have experience with creating Office Links? That is (I think) the little icon in the lower left of the MAS screen (such as customer inquiry) that looks like the Windows Start button. I have a customer who uses this feature and wonders why in v4.4 they cannot access Outlook files when in 3.x they could? Anyone notice this or have any insight? I seem to be able to verify that new templates can only be created from DOC or XLS type files.

I read somewhere that office links really aren't supported (try opening a 2007/2010 extension. Another area where Sage was too lazy to go the extra mile......... Alnoor can probably post the definitive answer.

The customer claims that in 3.x there used to be a link to access Outlook type files. Now you can only access Excel and Word type files to serve as the basis for a template. This is one of those type questions that's a pain to support under a plan because invariably the customer asks ""well can you call Sage and ask why they did that"" .... I'd say about 25% of these types of inquiries culminate in requests to contact Sage to ask why it is so...

Looks like this used to be a separate module which Sage apparently merged into the core program. Along the way I'm assuming they took out some capabilities. Here's the manual .

That is correct. From talking with people at Sage they basically gave up on it. When I asked about it once they were stunned it even worked.

Plus Non-framework modules will NOT work with 2007 or better
