Anyone have decent documentation on Job Cost to give me an idea about the module? New client using it and I've made it clear that I chose not to learn it, but they still want me to help. I need to know enough to be dangerous, but not do any real damage.... :) I mostly just want to understand how things flow. Help?

Not much has changed since v3.7x days. This will get you started. I believe there is billing functionality in SO now along with some other tweaks but this will get you started.

Jumped on here today to ask this same question. The jccd.pdf file is woefully lacking in flow functionality though it definitely has filled in a lot of blanks. What I would like, though, is some kind of ""best practices"" manual that explains processes in the software with a focus toward actually managing the jobs. Much of it has to be inferred and tested before it's clear how things actually puzzle together.

Good news is they have already implemented it so that's one less thing to worry about. You might consider discussing what issues/processes they want to you to review before investing a lot of your time 'learning the ropes'. Focus on reporting concerns as this is one of the several weaknesses of the module.
