Anyone have any special thing they do for tracking cancelled POs? Client is thinking Delete vs changing Qty Ordered to 0 and doesn't like either option all that well, but doesn't seem to be anything else.

Can they wait two more years? Sage ""may"" have enhanced the PO module by then. Sitting in the user feedback session, they are contemplating major changes to the PO module. Maybe we'll even get PO history.

No but at the Ask The Execs session at the end of the Sage Summit I brought up the desire to have the Purchase Order module act like the Sales Order module and have both an open file and a historical file so you could track situations such as this. I noted that once you complete a purchase order it's purged or if someone accidently deletes an order there is no way to find out what was on it.

And did they all give you that deer in the headlight look like they'd never heard of it before? Sort of like having the LINES included in Receipt of INVOICE types in the history file - no, it's not going to make the list because customer's aren't missing it, but it would make like much easier for those of us creating reports and having to subreport in the AP history files in order to get ROI detail. Jeff - don't tease me like that. You're just picking on me today, between this and the beta thing. The heat must be making you pesky.

It all boils down to a matter of priority. Will Pascal increase the R & D budget for these developments or continue to spend on brand awareness for his 42 publications instead of user satisfaction. Unfortunately, these songs have been sung before by all of his predecessors. I guess we'll have to wait and see. If history is any guide, they will bring out new functionality as a V1.0 release, but then move on to the next hot topic not bring the v1.0 functionality to a higher level. V2.0 releases do NOT sell new licenses but it goes a long way for continuing the cash stream in the M & S world. Sorry to be a tease today, but things were said last week that offer a glimmer of hope. Let's hope the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a freight train barreling down the track at us..................
