Not really sure if anyone can help me here but I'm a wits end.

I use Microsoft 365 and have an ????.onmicrosoftaccount which appears to be the account used to originally purchase the Microsoft 365 for Target System Technology which seems to be locked up I believe having something to do with MFA.  It would appear that this is the administrator account.

I've actually been able to change the password on the account but can't do anything beyond that.

I'm constantly getting prompted to log into this account.  When I do it wants me to set up MFA.  It then claims I have set it up successfully for MFA using my cell phone.  But then it loops back around and gives me the same prompts all over again.

I've found multiple references to this situation on the internet and suggestions on how to resolve it but all of them stop just short of specifics on how to get to where it can be resolved.   It looks like you have to contact Microsoft but everywhere I go then wants me to log into to account (which I can't).

Anyone have any better info as to how I might get this resolved?

Have you tried doing this in an Incognito/InPrivate mode if Chrome/Edge? Or completely clearing your cache? Or using a different browser?

The 2FA loop happened with me before and it boiled down to the browser session/history being the problem.

Had to do it twice, both times had to contact Microsoft Support to have them reset the password and disable MFA. Took a couple weeks. UGH.

Aha.  Finally figured out how to get to Microsoft Support.  Waiting in queue.  Estimated wait time over an hour.  Sigh.

Update: two hours later - passed around - connected to India - call dropped - no call back

Found US phone numbers - told me to go and log in online with the account that I can log in as.

After several tries I actually got into a phone queue again.

And we thought Sage was a PITA.  Now we know it could be worse.  I dread logging into MSFT to renew my annual subscription as well.  And the TFA is always a mental challenge.  And it only gets worse each year.....
