Anyone have any experience with this document management software. They claim to integrate with Sage. http://www.square-9.com/integrated-solutions Client dropped 20K on a solution from Altec last fall only to find out during the first implementation meeting that the solution didn't work in a Mac environment. Situation got ugly when Sage would not refund the money....... Client has moved on, Altec is claiming they may have the solution by year end. Square 9 is claiming they can do the deed. Is the client going to get burnt again???

I'm surprised at Altec. They always insist on detailed discovery prior to any agreement is finalized. It may be paid or unpaid depending on the scope.

Oh, we spent several sessions in discovery. Guess all the stones were not turned over.... They said they were willing to give back the money but it was Sage's decision. Guess what Sage said????

Apparently Sage didn't get the memo about ""The customer is always right."" But on Sage's website they state ""Staying close to our customers is second nature to us."" And long ago in the Sage Sales Bootcamp with Gary Peto, he espoused unconditional credits. And Ed Kless says the same.

    - Couldn't the run on VMWARE? - Square 9 approached 90 Minds about being a sponsor at MOTM, then they went silent, then they came back, then ""the check was in the mail"" and that's the last I heard from them.

Now I know why they sounded familiar..... Company is a medical device company. MAC is their go to workstation. Accounting department runs on Windows. The users that HAVE to access Sage run in a compatible environment, but there are a lot of users that are exclusive MAC that have to be able to approve and code invoices. Not a peep during any of the discovery sessions until the first implementation meeting when the brakes hit the pavement. Staying close to the customer is second nature to them but staying closer to the money is their first nature..... All sales are final, even if the customer has **NOT** taken deliver the first CD wrapped package.

@JohnHoyt But on Sage's website they state ""Staying close to our customers _**wallets**_ is second nature to us."" I think you missed a word...

Then there is your post this morning about Sage Expenses that only works on Apple devices. But it is free! @JeffSchwenk I'm confused as to why they cannot access an endorsed solution if they are able to access Sage 100 using the compatible environment. Shouldn't it work in both instances?

They didn't want to ask their MAC users to flip back and forth JUST to approve and code invoices ... I think it came down to ""we want our money back. We haven't taken deliver on a single thing yet

MAC users are always so needy and entitled. Do they give them juice boxes and little trophies too?

Well, it IS a startup company just bringing their first product on line. They do have a ping pong table!!!

I have a Sage 300 customer who just implemented Square 9. They started off telling me they had integrated with 300 before but during the process it became obvious they had not as I had to create views for them to read Sage 300 data, then had to write a program to check their output files before they get imported, and am about to get an order for a program to finish automating the import of AP invoices. I have also heard that the processing in Square9 is not as seamless as advertised, and for a company that normally pays their bills promptly it has caused some headaches. So since I had not brought them in it was good for my revenue, but I wouldn't give any fixed price for ""assisting Square9 with implementation""...

I've considered Altec to be an appropriate solution, but very costly, and I have been unable to obtain a clear value proposition from them for specific customers. One complication is they are doing the implementation consulting work which is significant. Eventually it ends up as a $40-$50K project including software which may be comparable to the investment in Sage 100. The customers rarely go for the solution.

I think of Altec when the customer absolutely needs higher level Document Management than Paperless and/or wants to route AP for approvals alongside being paperless.

Hey, Jeff, we've integrated Square 9 with Sage 100 a few times.I wouldn't say it's integrated out of the box.

From the generally incredibly even-tempered IT manager of my Sage 300 and Square 9 customer after I discovered, while training a new controller, that the files they create for import used the posting date for the first row on ALL the rows in the file regardless of invoice date: ""They are unquestionably the most incompetent outfit I've ever worked with.

Well, my client liked the enhancements that Altec introduced since last fall and has rejoined the Altec fold. The mess that Sage created by putting a credit on the account was incredible. It only took about five weeks to sort things out. But the ball is moving forward.
