I don't know.
And lest the group be sitting back and thinking, "Damn, what a moron Wayne is. Why doesn't he just fix the Lot/Serial issue", let me share the background.
It feels like I've run into a slew of "what a dumb question" on this group lately and rest assured before I post anything here I've searched and sometimes asked other sources.
If I'm coming to ask a question it's not always because my IT people are dumb or incompetent or they have never set up a SQL server. In most cases, I want to spare the group a lengthy ( irrelevant ) background novel that describes the issue and gets right to solving problems - which is what we do here, right?
In this particular case, the end-user purchased Accellos about 5 or 6 years ago. I didn't recommend it. I wasn't involved in setting it up. Stop me if you've seen this movie...
They went to another VAR for training on Crystal Reports and walked away completely convinced that Accellos was the best thing since sliced bread.
And maybe it is. I'm just not familiar enough with it to know if the integration is problematic or not. However, every time I make a SO entry into their system I get a pop-up about syncing the data with Accellos. Most of the times they call with error messages it's with a reference to a non-Sage Accellos program. So I'm pretty sure I'm not completely crazy in thinking ( considering ) that maybe Accellos could be at play in causing this. I just don't have enough evidence.
Which leads me to want to get their qty committed on track. Because if I can get that on track then the person on-site can start each day with a set of accurate data. They created a Crystal Report to show them when things come out of sync. It's just too hard to try to go through days or weeks of data so ideally what I'd like to do is have them rebuild the sorts and then take time during the day to monitor the report to see if they can spot any obvious reason that the lot/serial committed is out of sync.
They have warehouses on both coasts - and people that are in early and late into the day. Thus the question about whether it's possible to automate the rebuild of sort files.
So now you know the background..

How do the quantities on order become incorrect and need to be rebuilt so frequently?

I would really appreciate the ability to schedule rebuilds, also would be useful for keys when you're migrating a client. If there isn't one available, perhaps we can pool resources and get an developer to write for us.
