Anyone have a clever way to track the sorting of inventory items? Have a client that puts returns that need sorting in a separate warehouse and wants to create a ""sort ticket"" and then track the labor and status. Work order won't allow the parent and component items to be the same or that would probably do the trick. Any ideas would be appreciated.

One Work Order ""work around"" is to make the ""make"" item a special item, starting with an * then the regular item code. This allows you to use the item number as a component on the work order. Then in completion entry, make the completed item the regular item number instead of the *item.
