Anyone ever seen this one? Getting this error for all VI jobs, all companies. ""Record in Unknown file name is in use by another task."" The detailed Info says Error #0: Record/file busy Program VI_IMPORT_UI.F Line 1211. Tried reinitializing target data tables, verified all users out of Master Console, rebooted server... I'm about ready to reinstall VI. For reference this is Sage 2013 STD.

Have you cleared the Locks folder?

No. Would there be a specific lock file to target? Or is it safe to remove the entire directory?

If there are files legitimately being used, they will not delete. If no users are in the system, and no outside processes running, you should be able to remove all of the files.

Okay, tried that. Same error.

Usually when I have Error 0 the source file path is either too long or someone has the source file open.

I believe you are missing a needed file in the VI folder. I recommend restoring a recent backup of the VI folder from when it was working and then Compare all the files. I bet you will find the culprit.

Hi - Agree with Jim W - look at VI_JobImportElements.m4t or VI_JobImportSelection.m4t (as well as others) - it may be more subtle than missing - possibly damaged or locked by another process that is running on the server, etc.

Pulling the backup now. *Fingers crossed*

Took much longer to get the backup than expected. Upon restoring the VI directory the error switch from #0 to #12, same program and line number. Did some more digging and found KB article 31922. Wasn't going to ask for any more backup files since it took days to get them last time. TL;DR - manually reinitialized VI_JOBLOG.M4T and that seemed to do the trick!
