    Yes, just received an email from a client they were getting a communication error with SPS.

    Was it this? unable to communicate with sage payment solutions failed opening socket (err/ret=2/0)

    I connected to their server and brought up https://www.sagepayments.net/VirtualTerminal/ - which was slow to open - and it now works. I think something must have changed in the Windows update yesterday.

    Go to the server and bring up the VT website. It seems to reconnect. This is for Advanced/200 BTW.

    Apparently the issue is now resolved. Would have been nice if they at least Tweeted something about it.

    From their FB posting (not sure why they didn't Tweet at the same time): At approximately 9:30 am EDT on Friday, May 17, 2013 an issue was identified that may prevent our gateway merchants from accessing the Sage gateway. This issue may affect Virtual Terminal users and users processing through any Sage Exchange-enabled product. We are working diligently to resolve the issue.     Thanks very much @ThereseLogeais - I picked up on this from the group and sent an email out quickly to my customer who just converted to SPS. They indicated that they had in fact experienced this issue and it had since self-resolved. Power of 90 Minds!

    That was my thought when @BrettZimmerman wondered why they didn't Tweet it. Who needs to be tweeted about it when we have the Minds??

    Thought: Any benefit is the group setting up some type of alert system that customers could subscribe to? One way alerts only. Could see: a. Sage Payments b. Latest upgrade c. Weekly news you might want to know

    I've been told by SPS that Partners can be added to Outage Notification E-mails by sending an e-mail to virtualsupport@sage.com - with your name, e-mail and Business Partner ID (Sage Acct #). Additionally, it's probably worth also navigating to the latest Alert (https://support.sagepayments.com/link/portal/20000/20000/Article/706/Sage-Gateway-Access-Alert), and clicking Subscribe in the paragraph near the top. Allegedly, Subscribers will receive an e-mail any time a future alert is issued (or when an update to the current issue is posted). For Customers who'd like additional users to receive these Alerts, SPS recommended they do the above Subscribe thing, but it might be worth also sending an e-mail to virtualsupport@sage.com.

    Hmm, I got this when I clicked on Subscribe and entered my info: ""You have already subscribed to this article."" Funny, I didn't received any email notification about it....

    @ThereseLogeais Maybe we feed a mailchimp newsletter off an rss feed from a Blogger site that only posts critical updates,etc. Thinking out loud. Not sure what the demand for this is beyond it seeming to be a neat idea.

    You may yet get one - their email system is not capable of mass emails in a reasonable amount of time - I have often gotten notices 12-24 hours after the time stamp on the email.

    And guaranteed (based on experience) you would have 75% partners subscribe, 10% vendors/competitors and 15% (max) customers.

    Moved a very active client from PCC to SPS last night but fortunately, they are on 4.4.

    I don't think it was version specific. My client is also on 4.4.
