Anyone else having Avalara communication issues today?

    ​​I now have three clients today all having issues with Avatax Connector but all of the problems are slightly different. One client has a message stating "Internet connection is down or the URL specified in Avatax Options is invalid". Another client has just a pop-up that shows " : " but is otherwise blank when moving to the Totals tab of Invoice Data Entry. They do see Tax Error on the printed invoice. Another client shows "Tax structure errors were found in the following invoices" on the Sales Journal. The Avalara Status webpage shows everything is 100% operational with no downtime. Is this widespread or no?

    One client with TAX ERROR on every invoice and InvalidTaxCalc flag set to "Y".   Totals are accurate.
    I saw the "URL specified in Avatax Options is Invalid" once but immediately validated Avatax connection and address validation consistently.
    I have them Recalc'ing before charging credit cards.  One was charged without sales tax.

    I am seeing the same thing with at least one customer on v2018 Advanced PU10  - latest Avatax update, but was having issues prior to update as well.

    Has anyone else opened a case with Avalara, done more detective work to rule in or out any Avalara issues or have any further info to share? 

    I updated my customer with Avalara to the latest Avatax connector and their specific issue persists. This may or may not be related to what everyone else is reporting but before I begin the long and winding road of Avalara support I figured I'd see if anyone has an update to share.

    I have a customer that was getting "TAX ERROR" on all of the invoices but when she re-printed them the error disappeared.  Then she was getting an intermittent "Internet connection is down or the URL specified in Avatax Options is invalid" message yesterday afternoon.  She said that this morning so far everything seems fine, so I haven;t reported it to Avalara yet.  Maybe Avalara fixed it?

    We got this from a customer yesterday.  Customer had spoken with Avalara support and Avalara told them it was a problem they were aware of and that their development group was working on it.  No time frame was given as to when it might be resolved, but Avalara will notify customer when fixed.

    Don't know if this is related or not but DSD updated the integration program yesterday.  https://www.dsdinc.com/enhancements/marketplace/products/lmav-avatax-connector-for-sage-100
    Would be nice if Avatax customers got notified of these updates. @Jon Reiter

    I updated to the latest AvaTax connector last night ( which is usually all the Avalara front line support knows to advise ) and this did not fix my customer's issue ( which appears to only appear during automated order import from ScanForce ).

    For new Connector install, simply install to the MAS90 folder (we're not getting a prompt, or choice) ?

    We had this happen to a client yesterday.  They are on Sage 100 2020 PU1 with APS and Avalara.  Last week we were encountering the issue and I applied the SO6004T per @Jon Reiter's instructions.  That worked until the problem cropped back up yesterday.  We had the users exit and restart Sage 100 then "Recalc Tax" to get past the issue.​

    Add us to the list with a client having Avatax issues - unfortunately they are still on 2015.  Upgrade being planned.  But processing a couple hundred orders per day now.

    I have a client that is on 2016 and experiencing the same issues. We are trying to see if the issues the orders being imported via VI and BOI scripts or ones that are manually keyed in.  The issue does not happen all the time. Trying to get a pattern.

     

    Please add me to this thread. The client has a few hundred orders per day.

    Recalc button, or AR Utility to Recalc sales tax


    Recalculate Sales Tax for Flagged Records Only

    Select this option to recalculate sales tax for only those records that are flagged. Flagged records are records that have an invalid tax calculation.

    @Bill Pfahnl I thought the "Flagged Records Only" means the four entities you checked above. Only flagged record.  Does it have anything to do with "only with invalid tax calculation" ​

    Madeline - "Flagged Records Only" does in fact mean where the field InvalidTaxCalc = Y in the header file of the 4 entities.

    the DSD update from yesterday (03/09/2020) is for this: 

    That change affects address validation redundancy.  Not a bug fix, but a feature change.

    Not sure it is for the same thing as the errors our clients are getting.

    @alan niergarth, you can use either recalc feature.  The one in SO Data Entry requires that you do it one at a time.  The utility in AR will take care of all at once.  I believe that you will have to have everyone out of SO Data Entry if you use the AR utility.

    I wrote a quick query a couple of weeks ago to identify the records with ​InvalidTaxCalc = Y before I remembered about the AR Utility.
