Anyone else have this? Had 2 reports this morning on this java script error when running Crystal Reports directly (not from Custom Reports menu). One was on 4.50 for sure the other on 2014 maybe. As a workaround, I asked them to go to the Crystal Reports Help menu, uncheck ""Show Start Page"". I believe this loads the HTML with the java script that's is somehow invalid now. Also told them to uncheck ""Check for updates on Start Up"" (for the slow report load issue). They haven't reported back yet. I know Java 8 Update 31 was recently released. Not sure if it's a factor.

Yes - one client reported this yesterday. They are on 4.5 and run reports direct. I'll ask them to do the same.

@AlnoorCassim - Our client reported that the ""Show Start Page"" option was unchecked. She also rebooted her computer. Problem still exits. Any input from your end?

One of them just told me it's still happening. Hopefully will connect with them later today to see it live.

@AlnoorCassim I have not witnessed yet, but the error sent to me was similar, but not identical. Client says the error pops before opening up a report. I'm searching the web now, but haven't found anything I can identify as useful yet. It does not occur on my local workstation, by the way. My Java is version 8 update 31, fwiw. Please report back if/when you have any more info. I'll do the same.

Ok, connnected with client. 1st error launches immediately after launching Crystal, before opening reports. After 3 script errors (see attachment), they are able to successfully run the report. I also noticed that Java does not appear in Control Panel - Programs. They have a second workstation exhibiting the issue that I don't have access to right now. Stay tuned for more . . .

Good to know! I was supposed to connect with my client yesterday but schedules conflicted. If I can just see the issue happen in front of me I'm confident I can make some progress. Strangely it is just her XP machine on 4.50 that has the issue. The 20 others without the issue are mostly a mixture of Windows 7 and 8. Murphys Law she's the one that runs most of the reports and from the Crystal designer too.

At my client, the Windows 7 workstation is the one I witnessed in my previous post. Since then, I got on the 2nd computer, which is XP. The error did not occur for me on that machine, but the person who reported the issue to me said it DID for her (we both RDP to that machine). We log in under different Windows accounts (I don't know anything about the difference in our permissions). I did not see Java in Control Panel.

My client was on a brand new Windows 7 PC. It wasn't XP and she was on Java Update 25 instead of 31. She's using Crystal XI R2 from MAS 200 4.50. The workaround for her which is she okay with is I created a direct shortcut to her most used .rpt file while while under Help unclicked Show Start Page. As long as she loading an rpt while starting Crystal (not just Crystal itself) she avoids the sequence of errors. The Start Page has java scripts that are loaded from the SAP website so it can display the advertising in the middle. I'm not a java script guy but I'll take a look at it later. We should also look in SAP KB for this issue to see if something recent was reported.

In comparing to a working Win 7 system with same Crystal XI R2 and IE 11, the Start Page is simply not loading the same java scripts from sap.com that are attempting to be loaded on non-working system. However I made a simple script setting change in IE and now clicking on the Buy Now button in Start Page or clicking Search shows same errors. Different scripts but same error. I have some theories but I am sending msg to client to UNcheck the Show online resources box (see pic). This is what loads the portion of the Start Page where errors are appearing. Will let you know.
