Anyone else get one of these? I find it a little odd since I received my ""congratulations"" back on November 1 along with ""Sage 2018 Certified"" logos for use...

I got the same notice and received the Sage Certified Consultant logos. I think this is the Technical Certification notice. I sure wish Sage would change the due date to sometime other than my busy season!!

I love this is a component of 2019 renewal and due by January 2018. Is this the only thing Sage is proactive with since forever?

I also received it and found the exam in My Learning in Sage U. It is under Sage 100 - Technical Consultant Certification Maintenance 2018.

I got it as well. I wonder if enough of us bitch about it if they would give us an extension. That is all of our busy times. In January I don't do anything but prepare payroll taxes, W-2's and 1099's. This is total BS! They always seem to hit us up during our busiest time of the year!

I just received clarification from Sage regarding the notification that still didn't make any sense to me.

Post it here and let the Minds take a crack at it for you.

Email From Sage.... _We have started receiving some concerns from consultants about the certification maintenance requirements and suspect you may have some of the same questions or are being asked these questions from your consultants. We sent an email to the certified consultants and their consultant managers upon enrollment of the requirements, and attempted to clearly communicate that these requirements are not for the current 2018 renewal period. I have attached a copy of the original email. To help you answer your consultant's questions, the key points for this certification maintenance requirement are as follows: The time commitment is 2 hours of training through on-demand videos, and 1 assessment. The due date is January 18 This is NOT required for the 2018 renewal, but will be for the 2019 renewal period. **This requirement is only for those consultants that are Sage 100 Technical Certified Consultants**. This does not include other Sage 100 certifications. Thank you to those that have reached out with your concerns. We do appreciate your feedback._

@rant on: That's the same BS they gave me last time and I'm still confused! I agree that it's a good thing to make sure we all listen to the videos and know what's going on but it would be nice if they could a.) show respect for what we are doing for a living in regard to their rotten timing and b.) give us the manuals back! I know they are reading from a script so why aren't we entitled to it? Considering the volume of wordy games on the test, it's hard to remember everything from watching a video so serious typing is done while watching and re-creating what they already have. I don't know why this couldn't be done in a slower time of year! It would be nice to go into the holidays with only the normal chaos and without this added pressure. This seems like a case where sales beat beta. Just my .02 O.K. O.K. @rant off:

Has anyone written to Sage about this? I sent a letter this morning asking them to take into consideration what the majority of us will be working on in January not to mention the volume of upgrades, service updates and final tax table installations that need to be done between now and the end of the year along with our regular work loads. Oh and then there are the Holidays ....

I emailed them last week with the same points you mentioned. They highly encourage you to complete by Jan 18, though really it just needs to be done before the 2019 renewal (which would be October of 2018).

Melissa, I would double check that because that is not what I was told today. I was also told in regard to asking for the video scripts to use the ""What's New in Version 2017, 2018, Payroll and the Upgrade and Installation Guides for all of them.

Has anyone taken the Sage 100 v2018 **Re**-certification assessment/exam yet? How was it? Did you first watch the on-demand videos?

I took the assessment and I did watch the videos first. The area I had trouble with was Payroll tax setup. But I passed!!!

I watched the videos and just passed the assessment, too. One 2017 question. Mostly Payroll questions.
