We use Applianzsystem internally and have a few clients on them. We like them quite a bit. Any specific issues you're wondering about?

Thanks Brett. Client interested, so I'm wondering how the service is and whether they're responsive and reliable.

Service is very good. Usually just report issue. Half the time they've looked at the applianz and have it fixed when they call us back.

How does Applianz differ from what Gary Feldman offers? Buy vs monthly fee?

I don't know what Gary's solution is. What's it called?

He is a cloud web hosting company. Here is his web site. http://www.i-bn.com/

Applianz also offers hosting for $99/user/month. I'd like to know how it compares to Gary's solution as well.

@MarkKotyla Is that $99 for just hosting or including the license? Because with the new pricing that's now pretty high

Just hosting. However, client gets a dedicated server and can install all their apps, effectively eliminating the need for a local server.

The differences between Applianz vs. a hosted solution include: - Applianz is a device which is on premise. If the device goes bad, they replace - Applianz devices are for a specified capacity where a cloud solution is scalable. If you need a new device they replace, if you need more or less users in the cloud, you just call and your monthly fee is changed. - Applianz tends to work well in smaller deals where there are fewer complexities. If you need to integrate with web services, multiple sites or other technologies, hosting will likely be more flexible. The cost for hosting starts around $99 per user and typically goes down with volume. Some people offer a lower initial price point, but that typically does not include all costs. A $99 price point typically includes office, backup (including remote), unlimited support, etc. We work with resellers and unlike generic hosters, know what a ghost session, error 11 and other endearing qualities of MAS mean. We include outboud e-mail with paperless office, crystal reports access on the server and other features necessary for MAS to be as good as on-premise as part of our standard setup.

We've two customers with Applianz (now ""AppEazy""). Excellent experience both times. One customer put the device in their office, and the other has it hosted at Applianz' data center. The external hosting fit will for this customer who has 4 physical sites that must connect to the server, and potential bandwidth limitations at the sites. In the context of alternatives, it is price effective. The proprietary thin client is very, very cool. Thinner than RDP and much more aware of the user's desktop -- maybe even better than Citrix. And very low technical content, so it is just not a problem with users. Applianz generally no longer offers monthly pmnts for the system, so this fits best in a lease if you're trying to compare to subscription. I highly recommend this option to consider. The sales folks there are no-BS, and the president (Mark Janzen) is a technologist who translates very well to normal English.
