Time what? :) Is that still around. MAS had a integration for a while on V9 (i think) I think @JeffSchwenk used to work on it?

Some poor sap client was just sold on it for work order integration - I have no idea, but seems to be working. But they want a custom report and the filies listed in ODBC are not helpful.

Timeslips???? Not Timesheets? I use Timeslips for internal billing purposes but I certainly would not use it for anything else. I could see where TimeSHEETS might be sold by some shyster to interface with work order. If you are thinking about TimeSHEETS, Dawn's company (C&G) works with it.

Ah, you're right TimeSheet. Even though the ODBC driver starts with TSP, which sure looks more like SLIPS, doesn't it? Ok, to Dawn I go.

Sorry, I thought you meant timeSLIPS in your email, not timeSHEETS. I will see what I can find out.

Here is the response I got; hope this helps (STS =Sage Time Sheets): ""Yes STS uses an ODBC connection to locate the data. When you install STS you determine whether the database will be Access or SQL. You can then use the ODBC driver for Crystal reporting.

We have a CPA firm prospect that is looking to get off its old creative solutions stuff. Is this the old not really integrated stuff that used to work with job cost that you had to double configure? Anyone have a better suggestion?

Tsp used to stand for Timesheet Professional

Sage sold a ""dumbed down"" version of timesheets for MAS90. It was not well received because it omitted some of the versions of the full feature product and it was very expensive for VARS to become authorized (training required, certification).

I remember attending the session at Insights a few years back when it first came out. The instructor almost seemed embarrassed to be showing it.

I had a client about 3 years ago inquire and insist that we setup a demo (as they often do so long as the demo is free). The Sage employee that did the demo just ridiculed the version that was dumbed down and eventually didn't even propose on that reduced version and instead proposed the full time sheets (which naturally the customer balked at due to price).

Oh, keep this coming. It couldn't have happened to a nicer (read that as ""cheap son of a bitch who is on their third reseller but keeps dragging me along with them"") client.

That is what I recall as well. And we still have no good answer for prospects, so I am likely going to suggest VI to payroll and job cost for billing and cost analysis.
