Anybody know the background on this email I just got? Anything to do with @RobertWood 's recent post about disseminating 90 minds discussions? Hello M, During the last couple of weeks there has been some confusing and inaccurate information disseminated within the Sage 100 marketplace regarding ScanForce and the ACS Multi-Bin product. Some of you have been receiving emails or phone calls from another bar coding company asking you to upgrade or switch to their software. We want to assure you that: ScanForce is 100% committed to our resellers and clients. We continue to support our products including the ACS Multi-Bin link. Your business will not be affected. During Sage Summit we announced the release of our Android and iOS versions for ScanForce Warehouse Management. In the coming weeks, we will be announcing the release of new ScanForce versions that will include many new features and enhancements that will greatly improve your efficiency and productivity, all while keeping your Sage 100 system updated and accurate. As always, our support will continue to be the best in the bar coding community. If you have any questions regarding this topic, please reply to admin@scanforce.com and we will be glad to contact you to go over the details. ScanForce Management Team toll free: 800.219.5152

From what I know - Scanco, JDB Solutions and ACS have formed an entity - [One](http://www.scanco.com/scanco-announces-the-release-of-one-for-sage-100/). The crux of the issue appears to be that at some point in the not-distant future ACS Multi-Bin will not support new integrations to Scanforce thought it appears existing integrations (older versions) would continue to be supported. That's my understanding based on a couple of Summit conversations. Whether any of this has changed since Summit - I don't know. As best I can tell this appears to cut off Scanforce from future ACS Multi-Bin integration -- for new releases of Sage 100.

And no this doesn't have anything to do with Robert's post. The issue that Robert posted about involved a report that someone with access to the private Sage 100 Routine group had appeared to screen captured a conversation involving a vendor and sent that screen capture to the vendor. In return the vendor reached out to the 90 Minds member and expressed disappointment and provided the 90 Minds member with a copy of the screen capture.

This is related to the One alliance announced at Summit. ACS is exclusive to Scanco now.

Since Wayne's understanding infers ACS to be in an exclusive arrangement with Scanco, is JDB going to be exclusive to Scanco as well? I don't have experience with ACS but love JDB's software and have a preference for ScanForce for barcoding. (Don't rat me out!)

That's the point @ShawnSlavin - you should feel free to express your thoughts without worrying about it getting back to ANYONE - vendor, whomever. What happens in SC stays in SC.

Sorry @ThereseLogeais just being snarky. I have a story about that which involves @RobertWood that I will tell you about over drinks in San Diego next year.

It is my understanding that the One organization makes each of the partners exclusive to each other, although I have never read anything formal about it. From my standpoint, this alliance is something I have been asking about for years, or at least months. It has been frustrating to deal with multiple vendors to end up with a complete scanning solution, and this solves that problem. As with most software consultants, we do not want to become experts in scanning and simply want a solution. I cannot speak much about ScanForce, because I have never used them and actually have never talked to anyone there - even at Summit or at MOTM. I respect them as a vendor member of 90 Minds, but the situation has never come up about their product offerings being something we would consider or recommend. I'm sure they are fine, but the exclusivity may have a negative affect on them. Again, we look for solutions that work and if they do, we continue to recommend them. When there are issues that continue to occur, then we look for alternatives. One is our go to at the present time.

In discussions with Joe Bisaha at Summit, he indicated Scanco, ACS and JDB are actually sharing development resources and that the partnership is working out great. I to have had good experiences with JDB, ACS and Scanforce. Scanco went south for a while, but they seem to have made a commitment to getting back to their original higher level of service so this could be a great partnership. My experience with both JDB and ACS is that they made great product, but were resource constrained. IMHO - By pooling resources, this will help the little guys the most.

My gut feel is that this screws the existing Scanforce/ACS user, but I plan to ask Scanforce what their take is on it. How is this anything but a forced migration - which is one of the two dirty words that Sage wanted to eliminate from their vocabulary?

If a user needs warehouse management such as Scanco, ScanForce, and Accellos offer, and also needs multi-bin, what are the multibin options? I know SWK has multibin. Does SWK integrate with anyone? Any other alternatives?

We do a lot of WOScan projects and also a lot of Scanforce projects. As it relates to those two programs, there really isn't much common integration, basically they can just share the same devise so I wouldn't be too concerned about those two together even going forward. Not sure about what this will mean long term for ACS multi-bin with Scanforce, but I would think since it is just calling on the same tables it will still work.

My understanding is it's like FRx support in GL. ACS is not going to intentionally prevent Scan Force from working but they aren't going to be actively trying to enhance any integration.

Reduction in customer choices vs making life easier for consultants...hmmm...if our job was easy it wouldn't exist!
