Anybody have an idea why GL postings would be setup to do the following? Specifically the EOM adjustment. The first two are standard. Appreciate any help. Path of labor through General Ledger: -Labor is recorded - Credit 4755 Applied Labor - Debit 1250 Work in Process -Product in invoiced - Credit 1250 Work in Process - Debit 4525 Production Labor -End of Month Adjustment - Credit 4525 Production labor - Debit 1250 Work in Process Debit 4755 Applied Labor - Credit 1250 Work in Process

Sounds like they couldn't figure out how to setup whatever it is in Sage to automatically post to the same account so no posting is made.

This is their way to handle ""clearing"" the Applied Labor account. Sigh. Any suggests as an alternative?

Why do they feel the need to ""clear"" the applied labor account? Are they trying for some sort of invisibility? Is this WO or JO? Do they not like the combined COGS when the item is sold?

Without seeing any of the dollars for those postings I am guessing they are capturing any remaining dollars left in the Production Labor account for work performed during that particular month and moving it to Applied Labor. Perhaps there is a setup problem with capturing all of the labor properly or maybe there is a rounding issue that leaves a balance in the Production Labor account that should be moved to Applied Labor for that particular month. I am also making the assumption they are not simply zeroing out the Production Labor account at the end of the month because if they are then why not just post everything to Applied Labor to begin with?
