Anybody ever figure out a solution to the wifi while driving problem (Android)? As a Cablevision customer, my phone can connect to any of their million or so hotspots. However, as I'm cruising along, if I don't remember to turn wifi off, it's constantly grabbing and dropping connections and makes streaming audio etc unusable. I just can't find an app that detects the phone is moving and turns off wifi... Anybody else figure this out?

Nope I have the same general problem. Plus the whole ""getting connected"" seems problematic if you are moving through a very short stretch of Wi-Fi coverage. I've just given up unless I am out at an event and detect that there is Wi-Fi at the location. Although their coverage is not great in certain areas - I'm using a T-Mobile device to stream music on a 3 GB plan. With most popular music services T-Mobile doesn't use your data allowance. Surprisingly around town I'm pretty regularly clocking 20-30 mb download speeds. Rural areas are more challenging though the seem to be improving for T-Mobile. They also have rollover data - I'm on a 3GB plan and they ""give"" you a 10 GB bucket of rollover data to use in case you go over your allowance. I've only ever seen high data users in situations where they are streaming movies over mobile data. Other than that I struggle to hit 3 GB regularly and some months at 1.5 GB.

I didn't even hit my data cap with Pandora on all the way to MOTM and back. I just turn off the wifi on the phone.

I think I may have found a solution look up 'automated device' in the Play Store. I created a rule to turn off wifi when I'm connected to my car's bluetooth, and turn it on, when I disconnect. After 2 trips in and out of my car, so far it seems to be working.

Still using this. It works flawlessly. If you use bluetooth in your car, 100% of the time it properly turns my wifi on and off while driving. I added a rule to tell me when I walk out of the house without my android watch on as I've forgotten it a few times.
