Any updated on eBiz Charge?

    06-21-2023 - Has anyone heard an update on eBiz Charge and whether they've kissed and made up with Sage? Any other change in status or relevant information on this matter?

    The last update I've seen is May 17, 2023, at the Sage All Hands.

    The information provided was that effective May 22, 2023 "Sage is ending their relationship with Century/eBiz".

    It is 100 percent over from a Sage Intacct perspective as of March 31, 2023.

    '
    For Sage 100, I do not believe Sage has any control to end.

    I'm disappointed in the community's lack of response or apparent concern for this issue. 

    Anyone who has supported existing customers with payment providers may recognize the best day of the customer's relationship when they sign up as a customer.

    After the sale, the customers are frequently shuffled off to account managers and private performances of 'the support ticket shuffle".

    I, for one, am not playing the surprise game.  I'm telling customers to avoid eBiz Charge pending further clarification. 

    Sage is not helping things as I don't seem to be able to find their eBiz announcement, which I think was in Sage Partner Hub. The last mention of eBix that I recall was in May 2023, when Sage said that eBiz was no longer a partner.

    Let the partner beware!

    Watch out for your customer because it doesn't seem like anyone else will.

    We have a phenomenal eBiz Salesperson located in Portland, that I've known for more than a dozen years (if not longer).   He worked for Sage Payment Systems before Sage sold to Paya.  And he was one that was let go when the major downsizing happened at Sage many moons ago – when all of the Sage Credit card folks were fired.

     

    I trust him much more than I trust any of the other credit card processors, because when I call him for anything, he jumps on it immediately (which is getting more and more rare these days!)  I'm guessing that, like V-Technologies years ago, this was a case of Century not wanting to pay the fees that Sage requires to be an endorsed partner.  V Tech felt like Sage wasn't keeping up their end of the bargain with promoting V Tech, while still paying Sage lots of money and I'm guessing that's what happened to eBiz.  Keep in mind – I'm just guessing that's what happened.  But I will still promote eBiz because of our local rep.  I think this is a case of "who you know" and I know him.

    Unfortunately, Customers get frustrated and go searching for greener pastures.  Late in '21, one of mine was frustrated with Repay so they switched to Century.  I found out about it after the fact.  The process/price was not what they were promised.  I doubt if they will ever use them as a Century reference.....  

    And I really don't have a much positive to say about V tech either.  They play the finger-pointing game with Sage and VAR's way too easily.

    EBiz Charge is still working fine for Sage 100.  I do not have any customers using it, however I have been in contact with them.  There is an upcoming 90Minds webinar with EBiz Charge, I believe it is scheduled for August 2nd.
