For years, I've been a proponent of ADP. As with any product, though, you will have your naysayers. From my experience, if you know how to do payroll at all, ADP will work. If you don't know what you're doing with payroll, no service will help you very much and you'll always be mad.

My guess is that the cost will be around the Same... If you move away from sage payroll and go to ADP or other payroll service. Most will charge a per employee/check fee.

if I understand correctly that new costing tier is what Sage will be charging as maintenance for using the Sage100 payroll modules not the Payroll service, is that correct? if so The cost might be the same with ADP but ADP will take on most of the work including paying Fed/State/local taxes.

David, I believe your understanding is correct. I do not know if the Aatrix Electronic filing fees will still be an additional cost. If ADP cost is about the same, ADP would appear to be a better option.

We are certified in Sage HRMS. That said, we added it purely to accommodate customers who are dead-set on doing their payroll in-house. It's generally true that the total cost most companies pay for an in-house payroll operation is at best about equal to having it done by a service like ADP. Doubly true if employees are in multiple states. As consultants, we should be helping customers walk through the financial analysis for this ""make-buy"" decision. When it comes, our default recommendation is to outsource payroll.

Wait. Sage is going to begin to charge existing users a monthly fee to use a previously licensed NON FRAMEWORK module that is roughly equivalent in cost to what they'd pay ADP, and they might also have to pay AATRIX fees as well?

There is some speculation and it is not publicly published yet. At least I think it is not something we can share with our clients yet. + Not that I'm in any hurry to tell them.

Maybe I'm wrong, I am behind on the 400+ emails I get a day and just found the notification from Sage. from reading it I see they are going to start notifying customers with a renewal date in November on 9/8. I'm reading the FAQ document and it is startling to say the least. I'm NOT looking forward to this change and I expect some serious blow-back from our PR clients. http://img.en25.com/Web/SagePartnerInstance/%7B1dce53a5-95de-49ae-82f2-49ee5873b212%7D_Sage_100_and_300_Price_Tiering_FAQ.pdf
