Any one know what the $5,000 rebate is about below. Last I checked with Irvine, the only quarterly promotion was the buy 3/ get 1 free CRM license promotion. I suppose I can ask again, but I will forget that I asked by the time I get a response. I see this as an unlevel playing field if SPS direct sales can offer incentives that the reseller can't. BTW, the first line is an observation from the client................ P.S. Seems like the MAS people are hawking me more than ever for add on items? E-mail from SPS. It was a pleasure speaking with you! Bundling your existing accounting software with Sage Payments offers many benefits. You can save time and money, reduce double entry errors, and get up to $5,000 per year rebate on your Accounting software upgrades! Of course, if you wish to process using the same methods you use currently you can do that as well and simply save on your processing costs and still be able to take advantage of the rebates. While all of these are going to make your business more efficient, it's important to note how competitive Sage is in the marketplace as well. As a direct processor, we're confident we will be able to provide you better service at a lower price. We would like to provide you with a complimentary statement analysis to show you the savings we can provide. Please send over a recent monthly processing statement either by email or fax 703-659-4427, and I will have a comparison ready within two business days.

Nope - I'm not surprised that there are these unannounced specials. Half the time it seems even Sage has no idea what's going on.

I think Sage needs their own Socialcast so they could get on the same page...

The e-mail was a follow up to a phone solicitation made to my client by a person representing themselve to be from SPS. Here is the latest from Tracy (at SPS) One of our ISO's that resells our credit card services sent this so it is not us. And it is not a valid promo The plot thickens.....

My understanding is that ISO's get a significantly larger piece of the SPS revenue than Sage Partner's. In one discussion I had, the ISO was offering to run our SPS business through him rather than direct to Sage. We would have gotten a higher commission and the ISO would have still made money. This might explain why this guy can make outlandish discount or rebate offers.

Sorry to be an ignorant savage but what's an ISO? I looked on @MarkChinsky's acronym page and couldn't find it.

And given that SPS is in VA and the FAX number is in VA this might be a large ISO like Fairway Payments. Any of you doing a lot of SPS business might want to speak with them to see if you can get a better deal going indirect.

@PeterWolf The only ISO I knew was the International Standards Organization.

@MikeFitzgerald - Does the ISO work with the MAS CC module or would you be processing outside the MAS box?

$5,000 per year rebates sounds high unless the wording is just a play on ""you'll save up to 5,000 and could apply that to an upgrade..."" Anyone have customers who dream of applying savings toward paying a consultant? I don't. In the customer mind they're thinking kitchen remodel, tuition, Mercedes. I'm not entirely sold this is a rogue offer. I wouldn't be surprised if its something that has yet to be announced. Just a WAG.

And also the ""up to"" is a hedge. The total cap is probably $5,000 but no info on how much they'd have to charge for that to be available.

I threw it back at Sage in my response to her- ""Obviously, they are selling into the MAS database so someone has provided the names.. And they are selling on behalf of Sage."" Will wait on her response - If any....................
