In line but not for an iPad.

I ordered online. My box arrived this am but haven't had time to open it.

I do not anticipate a lengthy supply shortage. A few web sites have pointed out that in NYC there were several stores that had stock and zero people in line or even buying when the doors opened.

And they had the usual news stories of people camped out for days and those at the front of the line selling their spots for $1,000 on Craigs list From: do-not-reply@socialcast.com [mailto:do-not-reply@socialcast.com] On Behalf Of Wayne Schulz Sent: Friday, March 16, 2012 12:17 PM To: Mark Chinsky Subject: Re: [90 Minds Consulting Group] Any one in line for the IPad?

I'm depressed. I still can't read the tiny text on Retina...Not because the display isn't good...its amazing, but because my 46 year old eyes aren't 35 years old. I now need to wear reading glasses to appreciate the new ipad...

They had to give me bifocal contacts -- and increased the magnification this year. Sucks getting old.

Don't remind me. Eye doctor next week. When I first got bifocal contacts, it took three months of testing different pairs before I found one acceptable.

It's so depressing when you start to not be able to read the computer monitor. I was glad that they boosted my prescription but also wonder when I may need to just go totally bifocal.

Ugh... I agree. My prescription is so strong that I need to slide my glasses down to read books. Getting old sucks.

It's odd but I do notice the increase in the weight and the thickness. These things need to be getting lighter and thinner not heavier. I could even live with less battery life as the battery life is outrageously good if it meant a noticeable decrease in weight.

Maybe you need to work out with some small hand weights.

    I recommend 12 oz curls.

Does it seem any faster. Frankly, I thought the 2 was pretty fast? I almost ordered one but I agree with Wayne, unless you need a new one not a lot of difference. ( or enough worth. Upgrading). I'll save my money for the iPhone 5x.

The wife was asking for one so rather than buy her one, I waited a few months and am food chaining my ipad 2 to her. Unless you are an Apple Junky (or @WayneSchulz ... :) ) , if you have an Ipad 2, unless the display resolution is killing you, I don't think its worth firesaling your old unit for $300 to spent $600+ on a new one. I don't notice a speed difference, but I never felt any slowness in the ipad 2. I haven't tried any heavy graphics games yet and only a handful have been optimized. I will say, when the app is properly retina updated, its damn crispy looking. I don't have any hires photos on it to see the screen in that regard. Anybody know of an app that will show nice hires photos? Most of the stuff on flickr doesn't seem that hires. Maybe I'm crazy, but it just feels noticeably heavier and thicker. I do need to get one of those peel on wraps on it, especially the back. It's kind of slippery 'naked' and is uncomfortable to hold up for a long time. With Retina, I think there could be a market for a 7"" unit that's alot lighter.
